Homework
Children at Waldringfield receive homework tasks throughout Key Stage 1 and 2. These are given in the form of 'takeaway' homework. This means that children are given a menu of tasks to attempt over a half term period. These tasks are linked to the topics that are covered in each class.
We also have access to many educational sites and children will be provided with log in details for these. We also expect that children will read at home and have a Key Stage 2 reading challenge to encourage this.
Homework is voluntary and should be a fun way for children to embed their learning and express their understanding of the work done in class. Feedback is mainly given on a verbal basis and acorn awards are given at the teacher’s discretion.
All classes have access to either Seesaw or Tapestry where families can share work between home and school. Children are encouraged to share any work that happens at home, whether it has been set by the teacher or not.
Hedgehogs Class - Reception
No formal style homework is given in Hedgehogs class. However, parents are informed (through regular newsletters) of the learning taking place at school and how they might like to support their child at home.
